Color, Sex and Age of Horse
Horse color definitions are:
B Bay Blk Black Ch Chestnut Dkb or br Dark bay or brown Gr Gray Ro Roan |
Sex definitions are:
c colt f filly g gelding h horse m mare r ridgling |
The Age of the horse will be listed. All thoroughbreds define their 'birth date' as Jan 1 no matter when in the year a horse is born. So a horse born in April is considered a 1 year old on the following January 1st although the horse is actually only 8 months old. |
Sire Name
This will list the sire (father) of the horse. The name will link to the stallion's information page if that farm has purchased advertising in
the race program.
Dam Name
This will list the dam (mother) of the horse.
Dam Sire Name
This is the maternal grandfather of the horse referred to as the Dam Sire or Dam's Sire.
State (or Country) where Bred
Lists the state or country where the horse was bred.
Breeder
Lists the breeder of the horse.
Foaling Date
Gives the exact date the horse was foaled (born)
Auction Information
If the horse was sold at auction, the auction company, the auction type and year will be displayed along with the horse's sale price.
