Beulah Park - Race #8 - Post: 4:17pm - Claiming - 5.5 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $3900 Class Rating: 78

Rating: Golden DollarGolden DollarGolden Dollar

Choice Plays:

#6 SILVER FLATTERS (ML=4/1)
#3 HAPPY BEEPER (ML=12/1)
#5 PENTS BRIDE (ML=6/1)

SILVER FLATTERS - This front runner should profit from this race's shorter trip. Mare scored her last race here on Jan 15th as a shipper. I think she looks like a winner once again. Look at this pattern of improvement. 58/62/83 are the last 3 speed figures. HAPPY BEEPER - This jock and handler have a lucrative return on investment when they combine forces. I like that most recent effort on January 26th at Beulah Park where she ended up third. This jock fits well with this animal. The mare and Paucar together win at a rate of 75 percent. PENTS BRIDE - Last workout was the second fastest of the day. Certainly on edge for a good one today. When Camaque and Roe join forces on horses the ROI has been terrific at +36.

Vulnerable Contenders: #1 D L MINT (ML=7/2), #9 DYE AND DENY (ML=5/1), #2 THAT'S SO ROMANTIC (ML=8/1),

D L MINT - The probable favorite is suspect here with the lack of drills. A pattern of decreasing Equibase speed figures 85/70/67 for this vulnerable equine. DYE AND DENY - Don't believe this entrant will make an impact in today's race. That last speed fig was disappointing when compared with today's class figure. THAT'S SO ROMANTIC - The speed rating last out doesn't fit very well in this race when I look at the class rating of today's race. Mark this animal as a likely underlay.

# 7 GOOMBADA GUSKA 8/1

# 1 YEUNGZ BOY 5/1

# 3 DADDY'S GABS 8/1

GOOMBADA GUSKA has a respectable shot to take this outing and is a very good value bet given the line at 8/1. Should go off at a nice price and has some positive things going for him. Has to be given a shot - I like the figs from the last competition. Looks strong for the conditions of this race today, showing solid figs in dirt route races recently. YEUNGZ BOY - Has solid Equibase Speed Figures and has to be considered for a wager in this event. Very good shot today with second time Lasix. DADDY'S GABS - Handler has strong win rate (21 percent) at this distance and surface. Players get an edge when playing this trainer in a dirt route race.

# 7 CHIMNEY SWEEP 12/1

# 6 BULLIONAIRE 9/5

# 2 LEMONBIRD 9/2

CHIMNEY SWEEP is the most favorable bet in this race and is a respectable value bet given the line. His 85 average has this gelding with among the best Equibase Speed Figs in this race. Could beat this group given the 96 Equibase Speed Figure garnered in his last outing. He has put up quite good figs under today's conditions and will probably fare well versus this group of animals. LEMONBIRD - Has performed soundly lately in sprint races, posting a nifty 84 avg Equibase Speed Figure. Boasts solid speed figs on average overall when compared with the rest of this group of horses.

Turf Paradise - Race #1 - Post: 12:30pm - Maiden Claiming - 5.5 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $5700 Class Rating: 56

Rating: Golden DollarGolden DollarGolden DollarGolden Dollar

Choice Plays:

#5 JONES SPECIAL (ML=8/1)

JONES SPECIAL - I have to believe Talbot is making a good move here. This gelding can only benefit from the shorter distance. VonRosen rode this horse for the initial time last out and comes right back in this race. This gelding is put right back into a race in less than 10 days; this is a positive sign. If this gelding gets out of the gate cleanly, he'll be tough to catch. Looking at today's class rating, this thoroughbred is up against an easier group than last race out at Turf Paradise.

Vulnerable Contenders: #6 ARIZONA WRANGLER (ML=2/1), #1 OUTA CROWN (ML=5/2), #4 PUNKIN DO (ML=7/2),

ARIZONA WRANGLER - 2/1 is not pegged at the proper price for any horse in a sprint of 5 1/2 furlongs that hasn't finished in the money in a short distance event recently. If you keep playing these kind of 'bridesmaid' types, you're going to be disillusioned regularly. OUTA CROWN - 5/2 odds isn't enough for this horse when examining the most recent efforts. Unlikely for this thoroughbred to make a winning move with no success lately in a sprint race. PUNKIN DO - When scrutinizing today's class rating, she will have to earn a better fig than in the last race to be competitive in this dirt sprint.

Top HatGUEST COMMENTARY: The Brain - JONES SPECIAL - After a layoff, has had a few races and today he enters a sprint race. Should be back in form, so I expect this horse to perform well right here.

STRAIGHT WAGERS:

Have to go with #5 JONES SPECIAL on the win end if we get at least 1/1 odds
