#4 LADY OF FIFTY
#2 I DAZZLE

Here in a race which was originally known as The Milady Handicap, #4 LADY OF FIFTY is the overall speed leader in this stakes field racing at, or about, today's distance of 8½ furlongs on the "dirt," and has hit the board in four of her last five outings, with three of those "board hit efforts," including a pair of wins, also qualifying as "POWER RUNS." The previously noted (Race #5) Jockey/Trainer tandem of Bejarano and Hollendorfer send her to the post for the "Preakness Day Feature." #2 I DAZZLE, comes off back-to-back "POWER RUN WINS" in her last two starts.

The Walker Group Picks

# 2 DE PRICE 3/1

# 4 OKIE TUFF 5/1

# 3 RADIANT TALENT 7/2

DE PRICE is my choice. Has quite good Equibase Speed Figures and has to be considered for a bet in this competition. Could beat this field given the 98 speed rating earned in his last outing. Appears to have a respectable class edge based on the recent company kept. OKIE TUFF - Could beat this field given the 99 speed fig posted in his last outing. Richard has one of the most favorable winning percentages in this group of horses with entries running at this distance and surface. RADIANT TALENT - Will more than likely be one of the early speedsters of the pack going into the halfway point of the race. Has put up formidable speed figs in dirt sprint races in the past.

#3 BROOKLYN LEGEND (ML=3/1)
#1 HUNTER'S HOLLOW (ML=8/1)

BROOKLYN LEGEND - This horse wins a lot of cash per start. Tops in this race. HUNTER'S HOLLOW - I think this gelding is ready to run a good one. He's had enough races since the layoff and should be fit. This bullring of a track favors early speed horses breaking from the inside. Seeing as this is what we have with this horse, I'm going to take a long hard look at this one.

Vulnerable Contenders: #6 ENDANGERED SPECIES (ML=5/2), #4 CONWAY HILLBILLY (ML=5/2), #2 RICH MAN PALACE (ML=5/1),

ENDANGERED SPECIES - Not likely that this horse will finish better than he did last time out when finishing ninth. Can't play this entrant in today's sprint of 6 1/2 furlongs. Hasn't even hit the board in a short distance event of late. CONWAY HILLBILLY - This racer has had no success at Charles Town. RICH MAN PALACE - Hasn't been close at all of late. When scrutinizing today's class figure, he will have to register a much better speed figure than last race out to battle in this dirt sprint.

Top HatGUEST COMMENTARY: The Brain - BROOKLYN LEGEND - Has been racing regularly since a moderate layoff. Based on my data, horses hit their peak cycle in their 3rd or 4th race back. Watch out for this horse in this race.

#5 FAISAL PRINCE (ML=6/1)
#7 ST. ARMANDS (ML=6/1)
#9 MOVING WEST (ML=7/2)
#8 AURORA'S SECRET (ML=15/1)

FAISAL PRINCE - This race horse is racing on the turf for the first time. He should be tough, coming off a second place finish in his race on May 6th on a sluggish track. I like the way this horse's finish positions have gotten better with each start recently. A sign of a racer coming into top form. This horse is in nice physical condition. Ran second on May 6th. The improved speed figures over the last three races is strong. Farrior drops him in this event ready to go. ST. ARMANDS - This horse is in fine physical condition. Ended up third on Apr 26th. Just see his last figure, 93. That one fits in this bunch. MOVING WEST - After the contest aboard this horse on April 8th, the jockey is going to be in touch with the gelding much better. Strong average class rating on this horse. Should have the ability to run well on the turf. AURORA'S SECRET - Eilers has this gelding spotted in the perfect event.

Vulnerable Contenders: #1 SHOT OF KELA (ML=3/1), #10 SAFETY VALVE (ML=8/1), #3 FOURTH TOP (ML=8/1),

SHOT OF KELA - April 8th is the last time we've seen this gelding around. Have to be a little bit leery. SAFETY VALVE - Tough to invest in any mount in a sprint race at 8/1 when he hasn't shown any successful endeavors in sprints in the last couple months. FOURTH TOP - Unlikely for this thoroughbred to do much running with no success lately in a short distance race.

STRAIGHT WAGERS:

Bet on #5 FAISAL PRINCE to win if you can get at least 4/1 odds

RACE #11 - PIMLICO RACE COURSE - 5:25 PM EASTERN POST

The Dixie Stakes

9.0 FURLONGS TURF GRADE II THREE YEARS OLD AND UPWARD STAKES $300,000.00 PURSE

#2 OPTIMIZER
#1 WILLCOX INN
#9 SWIFT WARRIOR
#5 DOUBLES PARTNER

#2 OPTIMIZER has won 5 of 9 in his career to date racing at the 9.0 furlongs turf, and has turned in "POWER RUN PERFORMANCES" in five straight, hitting the board in three, including back-to-back "POWER RUN WINS" in his 4th and 5th races back. #1 WILLCOX INN, a 6-1 shot, has also produced "POWER RUNS" in five straight starts, hitting the board in three of those "adventures." Jockey James Graham and Trainer Michael Stidham send him to the post ... they've hit the board with 60% of nearly 200 entries saddled as a team to date.

RECOMMENDED CHOICES
The Walker Group Picks

# 9 EYELITE 9/2

# 8 PALMETTO JIM 7/2

# 1 WATERFALL 15/1

I give my vote to EYELITE here. Bisono's return on investment over the last month automatically makes this equine a solid contender. Has to be given consideration versus this field displaying strong figures recently and an average speed figure of 72 under similar conditions. The drastic drop in company can only help out this one today. PALMETTO JIM - The Equibase class rating of today's contest is much lower than his last race. Garnered a reliable speed fig in the latest race. Can run another good one in this race. WATERFALL - Looks formidable against this group and should be one of the early speedsters.
