Suggested Betting Strategies Using Thoro-Graph™ Form Ratings
First, determine how competitive the race is-- how many horse are within 5 pounds of the top rated horse, how many within 15 pounds for maidens, or 10 pounds with more proven horses. There is a guide with the product that tells what the pounds convert to in lengths at different distances. WIN BETS-- Horses rated on top by 1-5 pounds win 23% of the time-- they are good win bets at 4-1 or more. Horses rated on top by 6-10 pounds win 28% of the time-- they are god win bets at 3-1 or more. Horses rated on top by 11-15 pounds win 33% of the time-- they are good win bets at 5/2 or more. Horses rated on top by more than 15 pounds win 39% of the time-- they are good win bets at 2-1 or more. If the second rated horse is within 5 pounds and at least 6-1, he is a good win bet, and cover with an exacta under the top horse. If the third rated horse is within 5 pounds and at least 8-1, he is a good win bet, and cover with exactas under the top two. EXOTICS-- If the top 2 horses are rated at least 10 pounds above the others, play a two horse exacta box. If 3 horses are rated at least 10 pounds above the others, play 3 horse exacta and trifecta boxes. If the top horse is rated at least 10 pounds better, and 2 or 3 others are within 10 pounds AND at least 10 pounds better than the rest, play the top horse over the next group in exactas and tris.
