RACE #10 at Aqueduct - Saturday, December 2, 2017
Aqueduct - Race #10 - Post: 4:16pm - Stakes - 8.0 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $750,000 Class Rating: 122 Cigar Mile H. Presented by NYRA Bets (Grade 1)
#6 SHARP AZTECA (ML=2/1)
#2 SEYMOURDINI (ML=6/1)
#5 AMERICANIZE (ML=12/1)
#1 MIND YOUR BISCUITS (ML=5/1)
SHARP AZTECA - This colt is in nice physical condition. Ran second on November 3rd. This colt is a gem of consistency, almost always in the top three. Castellano and Navarro teamed up together are a punter's friend. SEYMOURDINI - This horse is very reliable, frequently finishing in the money. You have to consider the solid works of late. This one likes to win at different tracks. The switch in venue today may be a wake up call. This horse's record for this distance is solid. Horse didn't land in the top three in last race, but did beat half the field, and made up ground in the lane. A slight improvement and this horse should be right there at the wire. AMERICANIZE - This gelding is almost always in the money. Bejarano and Callaghan have had terrific success together over the last year. Getting a weight break of 5 lbs from last race at Del Mar on Nov 3rd. Should make the difference today. Look at this pattern of improvement. 97/108/123 are the last three Equibase speed figures. This horse has shown the ability to win on different racing tracks. Making the move from Del Mar for today's event, I have to believe he's ready to run. MIND YOUR BISCUITS - A colt like this one, almost always on the board, usually makes an excellent trifecta key horse. I really like that most recent race on Nov 4th at Del Mar where he ended up third. This horse likes to win at different tracks. The switch in venue today may be a wake up call. Had a solid closing move in the last race, running the last quarter in less than 25 seconds. A similar race today, and it's straight to the winner's circle.
Vulnerable Contenders: #8 PRACTICAL JOKE (ML=7/2), #4 TOM'S READY (ML=8/1),
PRACTICAL JOKE - Doesn't appear to have enough positive angles to support the reward. TOM'S READY - This colt in all probability won't be close at the finish line.
GUEST COMMENTARY: Hal - SHARP AZTECA - Coming off his last race with the top speed figure of 129 at Del Mar. He is the colt to beat today.
