Turf Paradise - Race #7 - Post: 4:10pm - Claiming - 8.0 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $10,000 Class Rating: 90
Rating:
#9 JULLIAN IN PARIS (ML=5/1)
#8 HAPPY DOES (ML=6/1)
JULLIAN IN PARIS - This gelding garnered a good fig of 85 in his last event. That speed fig should be lofty enough to prove victorious this time out. This one isn't the morning line favorite, but finished ahead of today's M/L favorite in his last race (Apr 8th at Turf Paradise). HAPPY DOES - Thoroughbred didn't hit the board in last race, but did beat half the field, and made up ground in the lane. A slight improvement and this horse should be right there at the finish.
Vulnerable Contenders: #5 THIRD WHEEL (ML=5/2), #7 RULER OF ANGELS (ML=9/2), #3 HALO UNCLE (ML=5/1),
THIRD WHEEL - Didn't land in the top three on Apr 8th after the very long layoff. Be doubtful of this horse this time around. RULER OF ANGELS - You always believe this horse has a shot to be victorious, but he just misses most of the time. HALO UNCLE - Tough to put any dough on this gelding on the win end. Likes to hit the board though.
GUEST COMMENTARY: Winston - HAPPY DOES - If I can get anything close to the morning line odds on this one I'm making a wager. Wasn't too far from the winner last race out.STRAIGHT WAGERS: | Play #9 JULLIAN IN PARIS to win if you can get odds of 3/2 or more |

# 3 CHEFETA 9/2 |

# 11 BEAUTIFUL EMMA 9/5 |
|
My selection in this competition is G ONE BOUND especially at a such a nice price. Must be given a shot in this race if only for the quite good speed figure posted in the last outing. CHEFETA - Has garnered strong Speed Figures in turf route races in the past. Could beat this group given the 67 speed figure put up in her last outing. BEAUTIFUL EMMA - Has to be given a chance - I like the numbers from the last race. Overall the speed figures of this horse look decent in this race.

Thistledown - Race #2 - Post: 1:20pm - Claiming - 6.0 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $21,900 Class Rating: 76
Rating:
#1 COLOR BEARER (ML=9/2)
COLOR BEARER - A thoroughbred coming back this rapidly after a good race is a good sign. This gelding's last fig is strong enough to prove victorious here, I'll play him back again this time around.
Vulnerable Contenders: #3 SMOKIN JOE (ML=2/1), #4 AUTHENTIC COWTOWN (ML=5/2), #5 SILENT DRILL (ML=5/1),
SMOKIN JOE - Can't wager on this steed in today's sprint of 6 furlongs. Hasn't even finished in the money in a sprint race recently. I think this probable favorite needs this race under his belt to start getting back into shape. When examining today's Equibase class figure, he will have to garner a much better rating than last out to battle in this dirt sprint. AUTHENTIC COWTOWN - Hard to put your cash on the win end of any thoroughbred that finishes second and third as often as this entrant does. SILENT DRILL - Tough to take this entrant at the price after the result (sixth) in the last event.
GUEST COMMENTARY: Winston - COLOR BEARER - I'm betting on this mount today. Should relax at the start then get clear in the homestretch.STRAIGHT WAGERS: | Go with #1 COLOR BEARER on top if we're getting at least 1/1 odds |

# 2 FLAMINGPROPOSITION 9/2 |
|
# 6 INTERLOCK EMPIRE 2/1 |
|
|
# 1 SPECIAL DISPATCH 15/1 |
|
My pick in here is FLAMINGPROPOSITION. Will probably be one of the front-runners of the pack going into the halfway point of the contest. Is a strong contender based on numbers posted lately under today's conditions. INTERLOCK EMPIRE - He must be given a chance given the very good speed figs. With a competitive 90 Equibase Speed Figure last time out, will unquestionably be a factor in this contest. SPECIAL DISPATCH - Ought to be given a shot - I like the figs from the last contest. A solid 96 avg class figure may give this horse a distinct class edge versus this group of horses in this race.
