Ellis Starr, also known as "Ubercapper" has been studying horse racing and handicapping for more than 35 years. Ellis fully understands all aspects of handicapping and wagering and was one of the first of his profession to publish his selections on the Internet, becoming an immediate hit with his philosophy of "teaching people to fish" while at the same time "giving them fish." Ellis does this by sharing his insights and the thought processes he uses in handicapping as part of the top-quality selections and analysis he creates.
Ellis also puts his money where his mouth is by regularly participating in Handicapping Tournaments, most recently finishing second out of 169 contestants in the Keeneland Handicapping Challenge. This year will be the fourth consecutive year Ellis has joined an elite group to qualify for the Keeneland Tournament of Champions and the fourth straight year he has qualified for the twinspires.com Handicapping Open Championship.
Ellis writes a weekly featured race analysis for the National Thoroughbred Racing Association and for Equibase, The Thoroughbred Industry's Official Source for Racing Information. Ellis' articles have been published in Horseplayer magazine in North America and in Practical Punting magazine in Australia. He appears regularly on Sam Spear's "At the Track" weekly radio broadcast on KNBR in San Francisco and is a guest lecturer to aspiring jockeys at the North American Racing Academy.
